Spalding is a peaceful market town on the River Welland with an attractive waterfront boasting grand Georgian terraces, tree-edged streets and pretty riverside walks.
Much of the town is now an outstanding conservation area and offers a traditional shopping centre, busy markets and plenty of history. Spalding is famous for being the centre of the flower industry in Britain. The land is rich in silt so makes wonderful arable and horticultural fields.
A premier outlet shopping village opened in May 2004 at Springfields Gardens on the edge of town. Springfields is now a well established shopping centre and comprises themed, educational and specialist gardens, striking water features and woodland walks designed by celebrity gardeners including Kim Wilde, Ali Ward and Chris Beardshaw.
